This division co-ordinates the input from the different commodity sectors and the representation of the views of the co-operative movement at a national and international level. It services the work of the sectoral expert committees and provides information to individual co-operatives as well as to the movement as a whole. This involves:

• Analysis and provision of information and advice on the national, EU and international legislative, economic and support developments in the agri-food sector.
• Development of policy and position papers on these developments. Representation of co-operative views at national, EU and international levels on proposed changes and developments.
• Participation, on a consultative basis, in the EU Standing Committees.
• Participation in COGECA.
• Development of overseas contacts for co-operatives, including Central and Eastern European consultancy and market intelligence.
