ICOS itself is a co-operative. It is directed and controlled by a Board.

There are over 150 co-ops, which are affiliated to ICOS.  These co-operatives in turn have more than 150,000 individual members. The combined turnover of the co-ops and their subsidiaries and associated businesses is over €10 billion.
